I'm living in Lima, Peru for a whole year with Rotary Youth Exchange! This trip will totally change my life and I want to be able to share my experience with the world. My goal is to spread acceptance and awareness of the world and it's people with everyone.

I'm not sure if I was supposed to find out which club in Peru I'm going to, but I did and it's the same one our exchange student is from!! Perfect! It's called San Borja Sur! I can't wait to go to Peru, I'm really getting excited to be warm all the time too!! Well it's late here and time to same buenas noches! Hasta luego mi blog!

Illin'
For the past 2 weeks I have been sick as a dog! I got very sick, and then we had to leave for a trip to Philadelphia. The trip was great minus the extreme illness... Philadelphia is one of the places that really makes me proud to be an American. The architecture and the beautiful monuments are just some of the many appeals of Philly. Every building project commissioned there has to put aside 1% of the total cost to put toward art. That has caused the whole city to be filled with artwork that brightens and beautifies everything there. Despite being so sick, I still tried to go along with all the plans we had to tour the city. We did a segway tour, which was definitely the best tour. I love segwaying, but when you are coughing and freezing cold and oddly motion sick, it's not very pleasant. The trip was an overall success and I actually found a city that I like. I can't wait to make a return visit in better weather.

Duke
This sweet little doggie came into my room this morning and slept in my bed for an hour or so. I'm going to miss him so much when I leave (maybe more than my mom, but sorry mom, I'll miss dad the most). I hope that there is a dog in Peru for me to love.
Tutor
I have finally acquired a tutor to help me learn Spanish more efficiently. I know that it'll be way better than the Rosetta Stone. So far, it has rejected me on the syllable 'res' about a hundred times. I have been really close to slamming my computer into a blunt object... I think that as soon as I can safely drive, I'll have lunch or dinner with my tutor and hopefully it'll help me adjust in Peru. I spent some hours with Peruvian and Ecuadorian exchange students and I understood a ton of what they were saying. It was very reassuring and I think that I'll do fine with the tutor! I'm starting to get really excited about this. My dad brought me some embossed journals yesterday to log my days there. They are absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to bring them back full of memories.
