Holy cow! I can't believe it's 2012 already! Wasn't is just 2005? or 07, I definitely remember writing that on school papers. Time is flying like crazy!! The festivities here in Lima help take my mind off how much time is passing though! Yellow is the color of choice for good luck, so we all have on yellow underpants and other yellow accessories! Also we put lentils in our pockets for prosperity in the new year.
I thought it fitting to also burn a paper with negative things that I want to rid myself of in 2012. Things that include negativity, fear, and doubt. Then we got to enjoy the fireworks. My family didn't do any, but there are so many others, that we didn't really need to! Right now it's 1:40 in the morning and they are still going off!
We also ate a delicious dinner before midnight and after we did dessert. This looks like a cake, but it's actually a big alfajore, or cookie filled with manjar blanca. It was yummy!!
